Australian Ragtime Before 1945
In early 2021 I was asked by Michael Matthew and pianist David Beattie to contribute to a project for the Australian Jazz Museum that was unearthing and recording Aussie Ragtime before 1945. I agreed, was given 20 or so rags and around 3 months to record them.
As luck would have it, a big ol' second lockdown order was issued around end of May or thereabouts and I was subjected to a very much unwanted freedom from gigs. So, in June I finally had the time to actually learn 3 or 4 rags over the course of each week and then dust off the recording over Saturday/Sundays. Took about a month total for all 18 tracks.
These are all are world first recordings, I do believe (that was the whole point).

Instride Job
Instride Job is Robbie’s debut solo piano album. It was recorded in Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains at Underwood Studios by Craig Field. James Carrett kindly did the photography and videography for the session in addition to coming up with the extremely punny title.
